Modernizing Email & Landing Page Designs with a Scalable System
Leveraging the Atria design system to create flexible, accessible, and brand-aligned email and landing page templates.
Client Challenge:
A non-profit healthcare company operating across six states struggled with outdated email and landing page designs that didn’t align with their new Atria design system. Their existing process was inefficient, lacked flexibility, and offered only a single pre-made template.
Project Goals:
-
Integrate the Atria design system into emails and landing pages.
-
Build flexible, reusable Figma templates.
-
Streamline development in Marketing Cloud.
The Design Process
Designing for change
Starting with research and prototyping, we designed modular templates—banners, hero sections, social links, and footers—built for scalability. Accessibility best practices guided our work, ensuring every component met brand and compliance standards.
Regular stakeholder and developer reviews kept iterations swift, leading to faster approvals and reducing rework. The design system’s consistency proved invaluable in expediting decision-making.

Collaborating for Seamless Implementation
To ensure a smooth handoff, we aligned Figma’s module structure with Marketing Cloud, resolving development challenges like button display issues early. A two-week sprint resulted in a fully integrated, scalable system with clear documentation and reusable components

Understanding the Problem
During our initial research, it became clear that the root of the issue extended beyond aesthetics. With just one pre-made email template at their disposal, the design system’s potential was untapped, and the lack of alignment between the design and development processes caused unnecessary delays.
Our goal was ambitious yet clear: to modernize Banner Health’s email and landing page designs while building a scalable, efficient system that fully utilized the Atria design system. This wasn’t just about updating visuals—it was about revolutionizing their workflow to deliver consistent, accessible, and on-brand communications.
Early Wins and a Promising Future
Though the official launch is scheduled for late June, the feedback from stakeholders has already been overwhelmingly positive. The project lead remarked, “Now this is what a $4-billion company’s emails should look like,” while the client engagement lead called it “the best call all year” during the brand governance review. With analytics tools in place, the company is poised to measure the full impact of the new designs, but the early signs are clear: this project has redefined what’s possible for their email communications.
Reflections on Success
With a full rollout scheduled for June, analytics tools will measure the system’s long-term impact. Early indicators show it has redefined their email and landing page strategy, setting a foundation for future innovation.
By bridging design and development, this project modernized more than just visuals—it revolutionized workflow efficiency, ensuring every communication is seamless, scalable, and on-brand.
